History in the making


At 03:44 EDT today (May 22, 2012) the SpaceX Falcon 9 with a Dragon capsule became the first commercially owned rocket to launch on a mission to the international space station.

As noted in an article over on The Register, this launch appears to be a first for another reason: the use of metric units by mission control in describing the rockets flight path.
