What version Exchange?

As I begin to transition into full R & D mode at my job there’s lots of experimentation going on both at work and home. One thing I’m looking at now is how to connect to my MS Exchange calendar using Thunderbird. The threshhold question is, “What version of Exchange are we running? Answer below.

Determine the version of Microsoft Exchange my account connects to.

Basically what you need to do is fire up MS Outlook configured for your Exchange account and then:

1. Right click on the Outlook icon in the notification area.

2. Select “Connection Status”.

3. Move the slider all the way to the right to expose the “Version” column.

4. Use the following table to determine you Exchange server version:
